About Me:

Hello! My name is Bo Kidd and I am a CTE Instructor for Oneida High School. I am entering my second year of teaching here at Oneida and am looking forward to working with you!

I am a 2005 graduate of Oneida High School. I attended the University of the Cumberlands (UC) in Williamsburg, Kentucky where I obtained a degree in exercise and sports science with a minor in communication arts. Although I enjoy the study of kinesiology, communications and journalism is where my heart is.

After graduating from UC, I began my career in the sports communications field as an Assistant Sports Information Director at Georgetown College in August of 2009. In January of 2010, UC had a position open up and I made the choice to come home to take the same position. During my career at the collegiate level, I broadcasted over 1,000 athletic events where my jobs varied from play-by-play commentary, public address announcing, color commentary, or videographer. I also did graphic design, statistical compilation, and photography. I stayed there until December of 2019 when it was time to make a career change. My next stop in the communications field was here in my hometown of Oneida, where I became the editor-in-chief of the Scott County News, the oldest running publication in the county. When OHS gave me the opportunity to come here and share my passion of communications with the students, I could not pass it up as I bleed orange and white through and through!

I began teaching in August of 2022 and am currently pursuing a post-graduate certification through the CTE Program at UT-Martin.

My wife, Cari, is also a teacher at Oneida where she works in Gifted Education. We have one daughter, Piper, who is in 1st grade.

My Goal

My goal is to share my love and passion for communications with the students here at Oneida through teaching them about broadcasting, graphic design, photography, script writing, and event recap writing. My hope is to give the students an opportunity to see what types of careers are available to them later in life in the audio and video technology and communications field.
