About Me

I feel blessed to serve as Oneida High School's Principal. I am thankful for you allowing me to have a small part in your students life. I attended Oneida High School and have a great pride in this school and our community. We are truly a family here at Oneida, where we value all individual members. I had a wonderful high school experience at Oneida where I felt loved and encouraged. My hope is that all Oneida students have a wonderful high school experience where they feel that same love and encouragement.

My undergraduate degree is from Tennessee Tech University where I have a B.A. in Art Education and a Minor in Art History. In 2017, I received my Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands. In 2019,  I attended Lincoln Memorial University and earned a degree as a Educational Specialist in Instructional Leadership. I followed that with an Administrator Licensure.

My first job teaching was at Huntsville Elementary School in Huntsville, Tennessee. I taught there one year before deciding to put a hold on my teaching career to raise my twin boys. I spent the next eight years as a stay at home mom and working part-time as a wedding planner in Knoxville, TN. I have worked at my current job at Oneida High School for the last eleven years. I received tenure in my fourth year. In my first nine  years I taught Art, Drawing, Drama, Yearbook, Stage Design, and Photography. I have coach middle school boy’s basketball and middle school girls soccer. In 2019, I stepped into a new role as an administrator serving as Assistant Principal of OMS overseeing discipline. I also work as Assistant Principal of OHS with attendance & discipline. In 2021, I was hired as the Oneida High School Principal. This will be my third year as the Principal.

I have twin boys that graduated from Oneida High School and are now attending college at Middle Tennessee State University and The University of the Cumberlands. They are truly my world along with Bijou (my dog). I enjoy anything that involves creativity it seems to infiltrate all parts of my life. I have always enjoyed sports and I am very competitive. I played basketball and was the point guard for our state championship team in high school. My cohort of teammates finished with three final four appearances and a State Championship. I was a member of Oneida High Schools' first girl's soccer team and played all four years. I spend most of my extra time running to games, band concerts, and other school events because I love seeing my students show off their amazing talents. I attend many concerts and plays as I truly enjoy the performing arts as well as the visual arts. I love my job and I am blessed to be a part of such a wonderful school system.

Leadership Vision:

Good leadership is not something that is simply defined, understood, or found easily. It is a combination of qualities and characteristics that are unique and at times situational. There are four qualities that are the most important characteristics of a strong leader. Vision, servant leadership, the ability to form strong relationships, and a drive toward excellence, I believe these to be the most important qualities a strong leader must possess.

Mission:

Students, parents, community, and staff working towards a common educational goal. We envision our students to be independent, critical, and creative thinkers with a desire toward higher learning. We envision all students building a strong character toward citizenship, ethical, and moral responsibilities. All students having inclusive individual educational opportunities being supported by all necessary resources to ensure success in whatever post-secondary path they choose.
