About Me

My name is Leann Goins. I am a 2004 Oneida High School Graduate.  I attended and obtained degrees from Roane State Community College and Tennessee Tech University.  My degree is in elementary education (K-6) with an additional endorsement in 7-12 English. In 2020, during the Pandemic, I obtained my Masters's in Curriculum and Instruction from WGU.  It was completely online and self-paced.  I finished in a little over 3 months. It was a great experience!

In December 2009, I began my teaching journey at Winfield Elementary School, where I taught 3rd grade.  In the next school year, I moved to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English.  I held that position for 2 years until I thought it was time to move to high school.  I then transferred to Scott High School, where I taught 9th, 11th, and 12th grade English for two more years. Finally, I was offered a job I had always dreamed about-- teaching at my Alma mater. I began teaching here in Spring 2013 and have loved every minute!  I absolutely love this school and what we believe!  I truly bleed orange.

I am the mother of three children, Lizzie, Landon, and Liam.

Oneida High School Mission Statement:

All students will be given the opportunity and be encouraged to succeed in personal,
educational and community challenges. Our goal is success, one student at a time. Excuses
are unacceptable and failure is not an option.

My Goal:

I want to create a classroom environment in which EVERY child knows he/she is valued.  In my classroom we will learn together. We are all lifelong learners and I often learn more from my students than anything else!
